According to Wikipedia, this edition was the first to be published in English. Originally published in 1948, this classic of postwar Japanese literature was released one month after the author's suicide at age 38. It explores many of the issues that affected Dazai's own life and is considered to be his masterpiece. This item is a rare copy of this edition, especially in this condition.
