Description: This alloy was prepared from Clip On Wheel weights (COWWs), Type Metal and Pewter source metals. Source Metals Preparation: · The COWWs were hand sorted to remove all zinc weights, trash and melted to remove steel clips. The molten COWW metal was fluxed and cleaned a sample taken and XRF analyzed. · The Type metals were melted, fluxed, cleaned sampled and XRF analyzed. · The Pewter was melted, fluxed, cleaned sample and XRF analyzed. · Based on the analyses of each of these source metals the required amount of each metal was weighed and combined into a single lots for melting. Each lot was melted fluxed and cast into the ingots shown in the photos. · The target analysis was 90% Pb, 5% Sb and 5 % Sn. (Lyman No. 2 Alloy) I have used this alloy extensively in casting and have found it produces high quality castings with a BHN of 15. Alloy will be shipped via USPS medium flat rate box.
