It is designed to cover the other sleeping bags in the system, making them waterproof and highly insulated. It is 18% lighter and provides improved comfort, protection and volume. It allows a Marine to be totally encapsulated under extreme weather conditions. The material is a microporous laminated membrane with highly water repellant exterior. An integrated flexible wire allows the Bivy to stand off from the face and a bug proof screen windo can be fully or partially opened. In warmer weather, this bivy cover can be used as a rain shelter and features a mesh above the head allowing the user to see out of the bag. The cover is 88” long and can be used with your own sleeping bags - it does not require the other bags in the system. The USMC Three-Season Sleeping Bag was designed to be a lightweight compatible military sleeping bag for temperatures above 20°F. The Inner Bag comes in two sizes Regular with the inside coloring is Coyote Brown and Long with its inside coloring, Foliage Gray. When combined with the full Marine Corps system of a Bivy cover, sleeping pad (not included) and proper clothing it is rated to use down to 5°F. The USMC Three-Season Sleeping Bag is very soft, lightweight, and comfortable.
