They were specially commissioned by the Broadmoor Development Company and Hotel for new residents and property owners in the early 2000’s. Only 125 were hand crafted by Janice Chetnik. Each is signed and number. Made using millefiori techniques. The kaleidoscopes are custom designed and contain special panes of glass showing the front of The Broadmoor Hotel. The item shown was taken out of the box purely for photo purposes. The item you receive will be brand new in the original box. Janice Chesnik is one of the foremost artists of wheeled kaleidoscopes in the world and a master of the centuries old Italian glass art process of millefiori. The Broadmoor commissioned her to make a series of limited edition, numbered, one of a kind scopes especially for the owners of The Residences at The Broadmoor. Cozy Baker, world renowned kaleidoscope expert, referred to the Chesniks in her book, Kaleidoscope Artistry, as among the first and finest artists to popularize the wheeled kaleidoscope, and collectors worldwide agree. Janice and Ray Chesnik founded Chesnik Scopes in 1980, and Janice's son, Jon Greene, joined them in 1990, handcrafting a full line of brass- and chrome-plated kaleidoscopes using a variety of beautiful materials in their wheels which are created using stained glass techniques. Each kaleidoscope features a magnifying lens and front-surface mirrors for the clearest optics.
