Description: This lot consists of the Russian-language editions from the 1970s of two Vladimir Nabokov novels: GLORY (подвиг) and INVITATION TO A BEHEADING (приглашение на казнь). Both of these paperbacks were published by Ardis of Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the 1970s. These paperback books are in overall good condition for their age, but they do show a few signs of reading, wear, storage, handling, or age. GLORY (подвиг) Published by Ardis (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and McGraw-Hill (New York) in 1974. Paperback. Russian-language edition. ISBN 0-88233-095-0. Spine has significant and visible creasing from reading but binding is still nice and tight. Spine has some wear to top and bottom edges and a bit of surface fading. Front cover has some minor corner denting. Front cover has light creasing along spine edge where cover has been opened. Back cover has some wear along bottom edge, some light cracking along spine edge, and some surface scuffing near top left corner area. Interiors of covers only lightly discolored from age. Page edges only lightly discolored from age. Book has a bit of an "old book smell" from storage or age. An imperfect but still solid copy of this paperback. INVITATION TO A BEHEADING (приглашение на казнь)Published by Ardis (Ann Arbor, Michigan), 1979. Paperback. Russian-language edition. ISBN 0-88233-430-1. Spine has no creases from reading but does have a bit of surface scuffing or fading. Spine has some light wear to top and bottom edges. Binding is nice and solid. Front cover has some superficial cracks around lower right corner, with some minor surface discoloration and light corner denting. Surface of front cover also has an area of fading or discoloration, probably from light exposure while in storage. Front cover also has light creasing along spine edge where cover has been opened. Front cover opens a bit easily but is still solid and intact. Back cover has a couple of very small superficial surface cracks, a tiny dent and some light wear to bottom edge. Interiors of covers only lightly discolored from age. Page edges lightly discolored from age. Page 211 has a small chip in right edge. Book has an "old book smell" from storage or age.
