The PASGT helmet is heavier and does not have accessory rails or NVG mounts. Therefore, in order to mount anything on it, soldiers must carefully drill holes into the helmet, which can compromise the integrity of the aramid in the helmet. PASGT helmets are also very heavy, so many soldiers opt for an all-plastic Bump helmet so they can carry accessories without the weight of a PASGT helmet.
