Description: Thrifting find. Vintage McCoy pottery oblong pinched bowl planter with sitting bird. I understand this shape is nicknamed "bird bath" and it was produced circa late 1940s. Colors are aqua blue or turquoise and green, and the bird is deep pinkish-red and peach color. The bowl is about 10" long and 7" wide. Please note there are a few significant production flaws. There is what appears to be a glazed-over crack in the side, and what looks like clay residue or mineral deposits inside the bowl. These issues are shown in the last few photos. Fortunately, the glazed-over crack is on the backside, opposite the bird. There also is allover crazing in the glaze. I could find no chips anywhere. Really a sweet bowl, flaws and all. Please take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. I pack with care and lots of bubble wrap.
