Description: This low noise amplifier can be used to measure very low-level noise or signals in the 0.1Hz to 10Hz frequency range. It has an AC coupled input that can accept voltages from 0V to +30VDC. Once the input is settled, which may take several minutes, the amplifier applied a 3rd order 0.1Hz high pass filter and a 4th order 10Hz low pass filter and amplifies the input by a 10000V/V. This can be useful for measuring noise on linear power supplies, DAC outputs, precision voltage references, and other circuits. The input AC headroom is typically at least 500µVpp, and it has a typical noise floor of ≤4nV/√Hz, 66nV peak-peak, 9.74nVrms. The amplifier is available in two form factors: Enclosed Unit, and Assembled PCB The "Enclosed Unit" is ready for use and includes a fresh 9V battery. The "Assembled PCB" only requires a 9V battery for operation without LED's or an enclosure. This kit includes:A functional and tested amplifier PCBA 9V battery power cableA panel-mount SPST power switch (user installation and soldering required)Three 3mm status LEDs (user installation and soldering required) EMI shield covering the first-stage opampsBNC connector lock-washers and jam nutsThe "Assembled PCB can be used without an enclosure, or you can install it in your own enclosure. I have a printable drill guide available upon request. Both the "Enclosed Unit" and the "Assembled PCB" are inspected and tested by me using an automated procedure prior to shipping. This procedure tests the following:9V battery current consumption (typically ≤8mA)AC gain at 1Hz (typcially 250V/V and 10000 V/V for each respective output)Frequency response of each output (Example result plot shown in images)Noise floor with a shorted input (Vpp and Vrms measurements on ten 12-second captures)I save all test results, including oscilloscope screenshots, and can provide the results for your amplifier(s) upon request. A full schematic, datasheet, example test report, and mechanical drawing are available online, but due to Ebay's link policy I cannot include links here. The amplifier enclosure label and PCB silkscreen includes QR codes to the online datasheet. There is also an eevblog forum thread about the development of this amplifier. Please message or ask me a question for full item details. Below is a summary of the amplifiers specifications: Absolute Maximum Ratings: Supply Voltage: -60 to +24VDC Input voltage: -30V (temporary) to +30V continuous 250 V/V Output Short Circuit Duration: Continuous Main Output Short Circuit Duration: Continuous Recommended Operating Conditions: Supply voltage: +6 to +24VDC250 V/V output termination: 1MΩ or higher Main output termination: 1MΩ Electrical Characteristics:Supply Current: ≤8mA typical Status LED's: Red "Negative Input" warning LED (only active if amplifier is powered on) Green "Power" LED Green "Stage 1 OK" LED to indicate the input is nearly settled. For more info please do not hesitate to reach out to me, I have a lot more to share that cannot easily be included in this description. Thank you for looking, and happy testing!
