Description: An impressive Large Antique Seiji Kaisha Imari Plate/Dish, dating from c.1880. The Seiji Kaisha (or 'Pure Water Company') factory produced very high quality pottery, though it was a short lived enterprise, only in business for 18 years, between 1879-1897. This lovely dish has the impressed Seiji Kaisha factory mark to the rear. This is a lovely hand-painted dish, with vibrant colours in the traditional Imari palette. It has a small chip to the rim (see photo) but remains a particularly impressive large piece and a good example of its type. Measures approx. 28cm diameter.
