I don't believe this piece is that old...more likely the end of 19th century. It is a very handsome piece that has been in my collection for years. The mend has metal nails, Wooden pegs elsewhere. The bottom is fantastic, with its gorgeous green blue and the star or flower etching, the same figure as is etched into the top of the lid.
