Description: This Lot of Two Hardcover books by KEHINDE WILEY is an extremely RARE find for any art enthusiast. The books are Signed by the artist himself and feature his unique perspective on African art. If you’re reading this than you are probably already aware of Kehinde Wiley’s extraordinary Art. These earliest books of Kehinde Wiley document his rise in the Art World and World Stage years before being recognized by President Barack Obama and First Wife Michelle Obama to paint their official portraits ( which seem to pop right off the wall into Today’s World when compared to the other official flat boring staid vanilla [insert your own description here] portraits… in my humble opinion) The first book, titled “Columbus” (Third Printing) was published in 2006 by the Columbus Museum of Art and Roberts & Tilton and printed in China. The second book, titled “The World Stage: Africa, Lagos~Dakar” (First Printing) was published in 2008 by The Studio Museum in Harlem printed and bound in the United States. Both books are SIGNED and are in excellent shape and would make a great addition to any collection. The only flaw being the cover of “Columbus” when tilted in certain lighting shows a weird color reflection which disappears when tilted back. It is probably normal and a result of the printing process while in manufacturing (see last photo). This Lot of 2 Books will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard box with the items safely wrapped secure in plastic so as to be waterproof with plenty of bubble wrap. Please message with any questions.
