From the notperfume site: Iso E SuperAn enigmatic ingredient found in many of today’s fragrances. A pleasant, inoffensive scent; dry and woody velvet with aspects of ambergris and vetiver. Although not heavy or intense, Iso Super possesses a rich, ethereal quality all its own. Iso E Super was created by IFF (International Flavours & Frangrances) in 1973. They describe it as “smooth, woody amber with unique aspects giving a ‘velvet-like’ sensation”. It is not an individual compound, but a mixture of isomers (same molecular formula with different orientations). These are large molecules which cannot always be detected by smell directly from the bottle. On the skin it may seem to vanish, but then reappear. It can overcharge the olfactory receptors, rendering the wearer anosmic to it, to then slowly release, making the scent available again. Avoid overdosing; others will smell while you may not. Hi,I'm told Eccentric does not use Iso E Super, but a 'captive' ingredient (only they can get it), Iso E Gamma. Both made by IFF, very similar, and many actually prefer Iso E Super. Basically, they're isomers of the same molecule made by the same supplier. Eccentric might seem a little stronger if there's any real noticeable difference at all. The owners of Not Perfume say they can't tell the difference. Cheers
