Description: Offered is the largest delft tobacco jar I've ever seen! It measures 16" with the lid and is pictured next to a 7" jar I have sold many Maryland jars over the years and had no idea one this large even existed. I searched websites for retailers and the largest listed was 14". Smyth jewelers listed 11" as their largest. I do not know the years this size was available. Hand painted in Holland and well marked on the bottom. It reads, "Royal Goedewaagen, Polychrome Holland, Handwerk, Designed exclusively For Smyth." The initials NY are probably of the artist who hand painted the design. It is impressed with the numbers 1427 and an A. 16" tall with the lid, 12" across at the widest point and it has a 36" circumference. It will be shipped double boxed. Very good vintage condition. No cracks, chips or crazing and the interior is clean. The lid has no dents but there is some tarnishing. See all photos to judge condition for yourself and ask if you have any questions. Please excuse white spots in photos, it is glare from the overhead light. I live in Mt Airy Md between Frederick and Howard County and can do a local pickup on this item.
