Holton H179 Farkas Double French Horn - Serial 620k- Minty but ISSUES Needs Work

Description: Up for sale, a relatively late model Holton H179 double french horn. Despite some of the pictures looking a little funky, be assured this is nickel silver finish and the finish looks excellent. This horn is approaching mint, I'd probably call it a 9.5+ for cosmetics. I saw one small finish scratch on the bell, nothing else stood out to me. There may be just a few other really tiny marks from handling but you'll have to work to find them. Mouthpiece shows some light wear so it has presumably seen at least some play time. Unfortunately, this instrument has been sitting idle for a few years and the valves are frozen. I watched a YouTube video on how to unfreeze them but I decided this was probably left to someone with prior hands-on experience. I don't want to score the valves or cause any unnecessary damage. They would not move with a firm twist of my fingers and I stopped there. In the same vein, the string pulls may need adjustment after the work is done, it's hard to judge them with the valves stuck. All slides move freely and I don't see any other mechanical defects. This would make a great horn for a DIY'er who's familiar with tune-up and the minor work required here. Priced about 1/2 the current retail. I'm seeing new horns with serial's in the 650k range so I'm betting this of somewhat recent manufacture, perhaps within the last 5-10 years. Comes in the case pictured. Case is in good overall condition with minor wear on the bottom. US bidders/buyers only please. This will ship tracked and insured.
