Description: Gorgeous Victorian era Mourning outfit. Lace and ribbon blouse with dress sleeves in 1850 style (puff at shoulder, fitted at bicep, puff at elbow to wrist) and bell flare at wrist. Lace has a wonderful pattern and is in great shape considering its age. There is a small rounded pocket on the front of bodice. There is an under corset style closure with hook closures in the front of the the blouse, and a tie in the back to fit closely to the body. Ruched high neck with gathered grosgrain ribbon detail. Bodice closes at top Left although closure is missing, would need to be pinned, adding a ribbon or snaps. Skirt is inky black perfection with gathered ribbon surround at bottom and room for a bustle. There are two rips, one larger near waistline and one near base of skirt which could be easily fixed. Underlining at base of skirt is a velvet ribbon. Well made and well preserved. Museum quality. Perfect for the Victorian dress enthusiast to display or wear. Top would fit an XXS and skirt a small.
