Description: HUM 440 "Birthday Candle, Candleholder" - TMK-6 Height 5.5" Tall This figurine was first introduced in 1986 for members of the Goebel Collectors' Club only and not sold as an Open Edition. It was originally modeled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek. He sculpted it from an original drawing by Sister M.I. Hummel. It has an incised 1983 copyright date along with the TMK-6 trademark. Also bears the inscription "EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION No. 10 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS' CLUB" applied by blue decal on the bottom of the base. There is also a circular backstamp "CELEBRATING 10 YEARS of the Goebel Collectors' Club." The original official issue price was $95 in the U.S. and $140 in Canada, in addition to the member's redemption card. This figurine is a closed Exclusive Special Edition (CE)(EE). See below for the specifications: Open Box - Hummel was stored in attic with dozens of other hummels. Only opened box to inspect and provide accurate item description for this listing. It appears the hummel was displayed at one point decades ago as one of the candles was outside of the sulafane candle pack (loose) within the box. Has Goebel W. Germany Missing Bee Trademark (TMK-6) with the year "1983" centered underneath trademark stamped in Blue on underside of base. Stamped "EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION No. 10 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS CLUB" in blue on underside of base. 10 Year Anniversary Piece - Additional "CELEBRATING 10 YEARS of the Goebel Collectors' Club" circular Special Backstamp is applied on bottom of base above the Exclusive Special Edition Backstamp to signify the 10th Anniversary of the Goebel Collectors' Club. Incised Hummel Number "440", Factory Control Letter "G" and Copyright Date "1983" on underside of base. Incised M.I. Hummel signature is located on rear top side of base. Hummel stands at 5.5" tall, which matches the catalogs listed height of 5.5". Master Painter Hand-signed signature in black with year "86" on underside of base. Hummel retains the original name sticker, "Birthday Candle" on the rear side of base. Retains original red candle pack and one loose candle. Note that the candles in the sulafane pack appear to have melted together from decades of storage in the attic, although they are intact and appear to be usable. None of the candles appear to have been lit. See pictures. Comes with one (1) original loose candle, sulafane package of four (4) original candles and original white box with foam inserts.
