Description: Talented Mid 20th C. French Modernist Artist Signed, on lower right (illegibly though) this Marvelous Cityscape painted in the manner of Bernard Buffet (1928-1999), who was know for his long, angular brushstrokes. It is an Original Oil on Canvas, whose image is a French Standard sized, 18 X 21 1/2. A couple (in red and blue tops) walk down a park lane with the Paris skyline, at right, and an industrial harbor, at left, complete with cranes. Wonderful sky above, from deep blue to sun tipped clouds and finally, gray clouds moving in. Artist integrated areas of less paint, to give a 'mottled' or 'stippled' effect that gives the piece added depth and dynamism. Piece is definitely signed - we can make out the "D" but not much else (see 6th image). It is an authentic French painting of quality and style from the 1950's - 60's, we believe (also see patina on stretcher - last image).Stretched Canvas measures 18 X 22 and is in Good Vintage condition w/ minor wear around edges.
