It was designed to be released, and used, during the 1968 Mexico City Summer Olympics. Eloga was a subsidiary of Fortis, the Swiss watchmaker.The yellow case is plastic - “fiberglass” - with access to the movement through the top of the case, which was supposed to make the watch waterproof. As it was made 53-55 years ago, the waterproofing cannot and should not be relied upon. The has a matte finish. The black world time (GMT) bezel has names of cities around the world in white. It has a clean acrylic crystal. There are some slight, barely visible scratches on the case consistent with its age (see pictures).The dial of the watch is a metallic red with metal baton indices with white marks for hours and white painted marks for minutes and seconds. The dial has no blemishes. As the pictures show, the metallic red dial seems lighter and darker depending on the light.Below the 12 o'clock peg is the ELOGA logo above “17 JEWELS” and “SUPERSHOCK”, all stamped in white. Above 6 o’clock, the watch is stamped “FLIPPER”, “20 ATU-600 FT”, and “100% WATERPROOF”. At 3 o’clock, is the date indicator. It has its original crown. The casebook has the “Flipper” logo, and comes with its original, white, leather two-piece watch strap. The lug width is 17mm, but the strap beyond it is 24mm. I am not a watchmaker, but I have tested the watch and observed it running for over 12 hours. It kept good time over that period, but I cannot guarantee perfect time on a vintage watch.
