Description: Add a functional servo winch to your FCX18 K10 with this super scale bumper! *This kit does not include a servo, spool, hook or line. it is up to the buyer to purchase these parts, and they will seamlessly install to the bumper! read further to see the recommended servo and how to modify and install! One full kit includes: Bumper mount Bumper Faux winch (4pcs) Shackle mounts x2 11x m2x8mm screws Features: Mount for a micro servo winch! this bumper allows you to install a micro servo behind the grill, just like you would on a 1/10 scale rig! it has been designed from the start with a functioning winch in mind, there has been clearances made to route the winch line without any snags. most servo winches will be strong enough to pull even the heaviest trucks straight up the wall! Double Shear Bumper Mount, Super Durable! Clearances were tight when designing this bumper around two servos in close proximity. this bumper has a double shear front mount, that allows you to use up to 6 screws to attach it directly to the chassis. "double shear" means that the mount has holes on the inside and outside of the chassis rails. making it super strong! Classic styling! If you are into old Chevy trucks, you will instantly recognize this bumper as the holy grail of Squarebody Chevy bumpers. This is modeled after the Warn winch bumper and Warn 8247 winch, using real dimensions pulled off of a 1:1 scale truck to give you that period correct look! Ready for paint and details! These parts are printed in 0.12 layer height to give the best quality. They are ready out of the box for you to paint and add details! I use Dupli-color chrome spray paint with no prep for a shiny look, and I use sharpies for the winch parts! Included are mounts for Injora D-Rings, or shackles. lights from the FCX18 LC80 can be added to the bumper as well! How to install a functional winch: Materials needed: Not included with kit! Emax ES08MD II or similar servo FMS Servo adapter or soldering iron. String (winch line) 4x6mm Lobster Clasp. (Winch Hook) Wiring modification: This can be done with no soldering if you have an adapter to adapt the standard servo plug to the smaller FMS one! 1. Move shift servo to channel 4. your shifting will now toggle between high and low with the long press of the CH4 button headlights still function as normal, with the short tap of the button. 2. plug winch servo into CH3. make sure you set it to center before you continue! Modification of servo: Your servo must be modified to make it ignore its endpoints, letting it rotate indefinitely to spool in and out the winch. the potentiometer is a electronic component that tells the motherboard what position the servo is in so it will move the correct amount. we are going to essentially bypass it! if these written instructions are not enough, there are a few videos on YouTube! if you chose to use an expensive servo winch from reefs or NSDRC, this is not necessary! 1. unplug servo. 2. open the case using the 4 screws. 3. remove all gears, remember how they go! 4. find the potentiometer, it is directly under the main shaft. unclip it for easy access. 5. Plug the servo into CH3, double tap the bind button on your TX, set the steering trim to 0, this will trim your channel 3. double tap bind again to save the setting. make sure the ch3 switch is centered. 6. slowly turn the potentiometer with the servo plugged in. watch your fingers to avoid shorting any soldered connections! when the servo motor stops fully, glue the potentiometer so it physically cannot move from center. 7. use a Dremel to cut down the shaft that would engage the potentiometer. cut the flat part at the end of the shaft off so it cannot engage into the hole on the potentiometer. 8. double check everything fits, and your servo is zeroed and not moving when the ch3 switch is centered 9. re assemble, be sure to not over tighten the screws for the servo case! Installation into the bumper mount: 1. Remove bumper mount from truck if already installed, use a m2x8mm screw on one side, and an m2x4mm screw above the servo horn. the servo should have the servo horn mount away from the steering servo horn. 2. Tie a knot (or two) on your string and thread it through the round servo horn that comes with your Emax servo. 3. (Optional) Trim the center of the front valance on your k10 for a smoother winch line routing. 4. Install the bumper mount back to the chassis, and screw the body back on. install the front bumper to the mount 5. Install the servo horn to the winch servo and thread the line through the fairlead. 6. Tie your lobster clasp to the very end of the line after it has been threaded through the fairlead. 7. use the CH3 to spool the winch in, make sure it pulls the cable towards the center of the truck for the optimal cable angle. 8. Be sure to keep tension on the winch line when spooling in and out to avoid tangles. 9. attach the cable to the Tow hook when you are spooled in. 10. DO NOT spool the winch in if it physically cannot move! EG: dont spool your winch in and try to pull your tow hooks into the bumper! this could cause damage to the bumper or servo, it is very strong!
