Text is in Japanese but it’s got wonderful photography and illustrations. The November and December 2007 issues of Model Graphix were unique in that each offered half of a Fine Molds A6M2 ZERO kit – the November issue included the fuselage and cockpit parts; the December issue included the wings and other details. This kit is a typical Fine Molds kit with outstanding detail throughout. In fact, reviews heaped praise on this particular kit and called it the best 1/72 ZERO kit ever produced! This was so successful that the publisher has gone on to produce three other ‘combination kits’. The kit is stunning -- the flaps and ailerons are molded separately, as are the cowl flaps which can be configured open or closed. The canopy is offered as either a one-piece closed affair or a three-piece assembly to build it in the open position. Markings are included for three versions: famed ZERO ace Saburo Sakai's V-103 aircraft, Tetsuzo Iwamoto's EII-I02 aircraft based on the IJN aircraft carrier Zuikaku, and an aircraft from the 263rd Squadron. Note that this kit was exclusively offered as a premium with these two issues of Model Graphix magazine and was not (and has not been) offered alone as a separate kit. The two Japanese text magazines include other kit reviews and builds, but the star is clearly the Fine Molds A6M2 kit. Condition of the magazines and models is technically BRAND NEW but the boxes and magazines show just a bit of shelf wear.
