DickensonGold Fenton stickerBurmese collection with Uranium/glowsBeautiful finish with no chips or blemishes Approximately 4" tall This beautiful vintage vase from Fenton features a hand-painted tree scene on a pink ruffled edge. The vase is part of the Burmese product line and was manufactured in West Virginia in the 1970s using hand-blown art glass production techniques. The vase stands at 4 inches tall and is signed by C. Ash. Perfect for collectors of antique and custard decorative pottery and glassware, the vase has a matte finish and delicate ruffle edge with pink rim. About Burmese collection: Burmese glass was developed by the Mt. Washington glass company in 1885 and was named by Queen Victoria because the shaded colors reminded her of a sunset in Burma. The Fenton Art Glass Company is the only company to successfully replicate the original Burmese formula in modern times. Fenton introduced Burmese in 1970. This particular style of art glass utilized heating and re-heating methods after being hand-blown to which uranium oxide was added to the gold in the translucent white glass. Once the glass was finished from being fired in the kiln, it was opaque. This metallic blend created the duo-toned glass in pale yellow and pink, but some pieces were made with brighter yellow and orange. The colors blended so well in the center that it became impossible to tell where the yellow ended and the pink began. The item is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The majority of collectibles in my shoppe are antique or vintage, therefore the condition may be reflective of this. I do my best to describe the item and indicate any flaws.
