Description: You are bidding on a wonderful French Antique sterling silver large sugar sifter. It measures approximately 8.5 inches long with the scalloped sifter bowl measuring 2.5 inches in diameter. Ornate piece with a beautifully crafted design with an intricate baton style handle and pierced shell bowl. There is a makers mark inside the standard French Lozenge and appears to be Henry Lapeyre. The head of Mercury for purity is almost completely gone from polishing. This style of rounded handle with an ornate design was produced by several of the best French silversmiths. The center symbol in the Makers Mark appears to be what looks like two parentheses forming a confluence. Perhaps someone is familiar with this mark. Beautiful collectors piece. I ship worldwide.
