Solution often used in the countries of the former Warsaw Pact not only for military purposes. Such roads were very often laid in construction sites, especially when heavy equipment was used. In many cases "temporary" roads became permament ones for several years. Self-adhesive feets can be glued underneath your bases. Feets are designed to support the weight of the base with kit floor and to keep it level. The base is very easy to customize with paints, pigments, washes, deposits, vegetation and all other available diorama stuff. Keep in mind you may use not only short grass but also much taller too.
