Description: Early 19th Century sampler, appearing to be on linen. By Eleanor Gamby in her 14th year, 1819. Noted wear to corners and edges. Fading or color run in some areas. Amazing it still survives. Looks to have been framed in last 25 years possibly. Measures 16 3/4" x 16 3/4". Lovely buck and doe deer frolicking at bottom margin, crowns, birds, flowers, also throughout. See the many photos showing closeups of the fabric and stitching. Thanks for looking!
