Description: Antique WOODEN FIRKIN/SUGAR BUCKET. This late 1800's wood bucket is made from beveled ash staves originally secured with two metal bands. The bucket is tapered and measures 12" diameter at the top, 10" diameter at the bottom and is 11" tall. A stabilizing stain has been applied to the outside and the bottom. The interior has been painted red. Condition: There are bumps and bruises commensurate with its age and use. There is a large chip on the outside of the top rim and a smaller chip inside the bottom of the bottom rim. There is also loss on the top rim which, because of its location, must have had a similar knob to the remaining one. The bucket must have had a handle. Please look carefully at the photos.
