EARLY D M Co NEW HAVEN MORTISE LOCK w/KEY 7 3/4" FACE, 3 3/16" BS NICE (40512) Vintage, 1870-1880, Davenport Mallory Co, New Haven, early mortise lock that pre-dates their numbering system. Completely restored, comes with a key, heavy brass face, overall very nice, clean and functions perfectly.Requires a standard size 5/16" knob post shaft.Mortise lock has a face plate length of 7 3/4" and a width of 1 1/4" and thickness of 3/16". Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 3 3/16". Screws are on 6 7/8" centers. The drop from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key slot is 3 5/8". Very nice lock, should last another 150 years!
