Description: A ca 1920s-30s California plein air painting of a wilderness scene in its original frame and under glass. Done in pastels on board, the painting of a lake and mountains is probably a scene from the Sierras. The clouds are quite beautifully captured. The painting is signed by the artist but I can't decipher it..begins with V and ends in D. There is a California-shape run of the pastel near the signature, otherwise the painting has no damage. It comes in its original carved wood frame which has some wear/paint loss, easily touched up with rub 'n' buff. The frame measures 16 1/2" x 14 1/2" ; the opening for the painting measures 14" x 12". Weight is 2 lb 7 oz.
