The wings of the pack are also pockets with zippers and all the zippers work smoothly. I'd say this is designed with the outdoor photographer in mind, and it has plenty of room. This pack is Large ! The interior of the main compartment is 12"x 6"x 6.5 - 7" deep. the wings also have padded compartments and they are much harder to measure but each wing is approximately 12" long.
