With the original case made at Rock Island Arsenal, this example without presentation or pin brooch. Mounted cavalry trooper on horse firing his Springfield carbine, the reverse has a nearly closed wreath with "U.S. MINT" marking. 51mm diameter. Very Fine + condition. A rare and desirable U.S. marksman medal from the Indian Wars era.
