Description: Reginald’s Fancy Books: Our Review Whether you’re a history nerd or a trivia nerd or both—you’ll love this book. How do you read a gas meter? What are the largest islands in the world? What type of wood provides the most fuel? What’s the origin of Uncle Sam? What’s a life hack for mending rubber overshoes? What are the dimensions of the Great Wall of China? Explain parliamentary rules to me. Before Google, before Guinness World Records, before Wikipedia, and before ChatGPT, they had this book. There’s something so familiar in seeing the types of information people wanted 100 years ago. It’s fun to reconcile our modern expectations with artifacts like this one. It’s truly impressive how much info they crammed into its 477 pages. And the awesome foldout map of all 48 United States and our territories, such as the Philippines, is the icing on the cake. I usually stay away from anything with the word encyclopedia in the title but this book is the exception. —— Conklin’s Manual and Edison’s Encyclopedia Combined new maps new census 1921 edition. Beautiful and very rare little book printed in 1921. 477 pages. Notes on condition: Excellent condition with a tight and strong binding, especially for a densely packed book of thin pages with a bulky foldout map in the middle. Cover shows wear and some fading of the text. Also has some small areas that show rubbing along the edges and very tiny areas that are fraying. All pages are firmly in place. No dog eared or torn pages. Paper has age discoloration but text is still rich and clearly contrasts and there are no readability issues. No writing or highlighting noticed. This is a great copy
