Description: Here is a Colt 1911 slide, stripped, front sight is a target replacement. Millled for a target rear. Marked MD1 on top. This slide was originally being modified as a target slide. It is marked COLTS PT FAMFG CO. HartFORD CT U.S.A. It has spurious stipling marks along the top. Apparently someone was trying out a new stipling tool as the marks are random and not part of any pattern. The slide rail is cracked on the right side under the rear sight. As such this is being sold as an oddity and not a replacement part. The MD1 marking was part of a hardening test conducted by Springfield Armory on a number of these slides, provided by the manufacturer.
