Description: The end of the line: During the 1950's and early 1960's, the Asahiflex Camera (Forerunner of the Pentax) was distributed in the United States by Sears Roebuck & Co. under the Sears brand name "Tower". Here we have the Tower 22, produced by the Asahi Optical Company between February 1955 and April 1957. In non-U.S. Markets, this camera was sold as the Asahiflex IIA. This would be the final production version of the M37 Asahiflex/Tower 35mm camera prior to Asahi's introduction of the M42 Pentax AP/Tower 26 in May 1957. This camera is in near mint condition with only a few minor cosmetic imperfections, but would more than accentuate a display collection. The imperfections are not visible from a frontal view. (Minor scratches on the top of the body along with a small dent beneath the serial number) Comes with a f/2.4 58mm Asahi-Kogaku Takumar lens, s/n 93626. All mechanics seem to work as designed however, I make no warranties, either express nor implied on this item. I purchased it for a display piece and I am selling it for the same use. Buyer responsible for any repairs which may be required. I am also currently selling the Asahiflex IIA version of this camera in another listing should you seek to collect both versions while you can find them. No warranties are conveyed, either expressed or implied. Item sold in As Is condition. Please ask any questions prior to purchase as Sale is Final. Thank you.
