Description: Chinese Wood Zhao Gong Ming The God Of Prosperity Gilded Sculpture, Rare Zhao Gong Ming (Cai Shen) is usually depicted with the cap of an official and an iron club (missing) as symbol of his power. It is said that he rides on a tiger. He was able to chase away thunder and lightning and to invoke clouds and rain. His most important religious function was to dispel pestilence and to ward off natural disasters. He also functions as a judge who rectifies unjust verdicts, and is appealed as a god of money or prosperity. In this capacity he is commonly called Caishen 財神, the God of Money. This statue is in fair to good condition, it’s approximately 140-180 years old. Much of the gilding and paint are still present. There also appears to be a wood plug in the statue's back. I'm not sure what this is for. Statue Dimensions are: 9.25” Tall x 4” Wide x 2.75” Depth. The Box Coffin Dimensions are: 4.5" Tall x 12" Long x 5" Depth. «««««PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
