Description: This is a beautiful religious frame, professionally mounted and displaying a fine larger sized German postcard of a 14th Century Byzantine icon of the Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The original is located in a museum in Ohrid, Macedonia. I opened the frame to clean the glass and apply a new dust sealer to the back and found the 6 by 4 1/2" card inside to be in near mint condition, as well as the unusual rough surface brown burlap matting which beautifully enhances the visual. This is presented behind non-reflective glass and finished in a gilded gesso over softwood brown painted frame, the outside dimensions of which measure 9 1/4 by 7 5/8".
