Absolutely, 100% untouched, nearly originally constituted condition. The sculpture is dated 1968 in red paint on the inside of the wooden trapezoid black painted plinth block. If you like fine art and sculpture that's not the 'same old, same old' but rather surprising and challenging, then consider this nearly extraterrestrial, other-worldly, startling and visually arresting Brutalist painted bronze figurative sculptural assemblage, with found industrial metal objects, stacked like a totem. The cast bronze figuration appears to be some kind of unnamed and unidentified organic creature, with a sea skate or sting ray's form, with a winding, twisting tail and two barbed tentacles emerging from the other side of a metal object, reaching out, taunting and menacing the viewer within close proximity of the assemblage. The cast bronze is painted with zebra black and white pin stripes with cadmium medium highlights. The bronze is affixed to two separate found industrial objects, stacked on a black wooden, trapezoid shaped plinth block base. The sculptural assemblage is as ambitious as it's adventuresome. Here the artist clearly took chances and does something quite unusual, in that the artist painted the cast bronze of the figure, which is rarely done. The sculpture is imposing and commands attention and at least casual curiosity, if not garnering the full sentient faculties of the viewer. It won't disappoint. Gorgeous and enigmatic. Mysterious and with tremendous formal balance. Terrific. This is not a potted plant but something possibly even more alive than life itself. Astonishing. CONDITION:Very Good to Excellent overall vintage condition. In nearly originally constituted vintage condition. Estate fresh and new to the marketplace.
