Description: Listed for sale is a 1995 Breitling Cosmonaute Serie Speciale (Limited Edition) sapphire display back chronograph. This watch is from edition D12023 and is marked D12023, with 0143 beneath it on the back of the watch. The 0143 presumably implies the production number. This examples has a stainless steel case and yellow solid gold bezel with gold main hands. The dial is black. This a 24 hour watch, used originally by Scott Carpenter on Aurora 7. After the space mission, Breitling's Cosmonaute became an icon. The watch features a sapphire crystal display back, which shows off manual wind movement. The watch appears to function properly and I believe it was last service about ten years ago. The back of the watch has the limited edition inscription on it as can be noted in the photos. It reads "Cosmonaute Série Spéciale Étanche 30 M." The condition is very good, though it does show some wear cosmetically and would benefit from polishing. This watch comes with the band and deployment clasp as shown. Movement: The watch uses a manual wind Lemania-based Breitling Calibre 12 movement. Measurements: The case measures 41.5 mm excluding the crown. Condition: The watch is in good to very good cosmetic condition, with some wear to the case as shown and described. Some light scratches are found around the case. It could be used as/is if a little bit of visible wear is okay with the new owner. If the new owner is seeking perfection, I would recommend having it polished.
