Description: Maker: The blue underglaze mark on the base of this exquisite candleholder appears to be a back stamp of the Richard Klemm decorating studio, which was in business in Dresden, Germany, from 1869 to 1949, producing exceptional works in the Meissen and Vienna styles. Marks and age: The unclear mark on this candleholder - without the attribution "Germany" or "Made in Germany" - appears to be the studio's classic RK blue crown mark. This mark was in use between c1888 and c1916. But because the mark is worn and unclear, the attribution to Klemm is not confirmed. Source: Dresden Porcelain Studios by Jim and Susan Harran. Design: The candleholder features finely hand painted flowers in a beautifully executed version of the classic Dresden Flowers pattern produced by many German makers in Dresden and other regions. Few did it as well as Richard Klemm, one of the original four Dresden porcelain decorating companies, known for its vibrant and finely detailed designs and for its superb quality. Size: The candlestick is 6 1/2 inches tall, 3 5/8 inches wide at the base and 2 inches wide at the top. It weighs 9.5 ounces. The candle opening is just over 3/4 inches wide. Condition: It's in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or crazing. There is light wear to the gold trim - it's visible in the photos. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
