This is the 1862 AN XVII Twenty Baiocchi struck during the times of Pope Pius IX by the mint in Rome Italy. The coin depicts the image of the bust of pope Pius IX facing left on the obverse with the legend "PIVS IX.PONT.MAX.AN.XVII" surrounding the image. The reverse shows the denomination and date within a wreath with the mint mark "R" in the bottom. The coin weighs ~5.7 grams of 0.800 silver and measures ~24 mm in diameter. The coin has a reeded edge. This is the rather scarce coin. It is beautiful and has a nice portrait of the Pontiff. Size and weight: The coin weighs ~5.7 grams silver and measures ~24 mm in diameter. References: This KM 1360. Condition: I would grade the coin as about uncirculated or much better with all of its details being very well preserved and showing minimum wear if any. The coin has minor scratches and a minimum number of bag marks. It is nicely toned, is great looking and has nice eye appeal.
