Description: 1849 Liberty Head Braided Hair Design Large Cent Nice Very Good Condition For Your American Coin Collection-LC061 Details Description: A nice very good or better copper 1849 Liberty Head with a Braided Hair design large cent or penny. The coin itself is better than the photos show and has much of its details evident. The details of the coins are very distinct with wear commensurate with its grade. The obverse shows wear to the ear of lady liberty as well as the hair lines around it and the word LIBERTY in the crown. The rest of the coin shows wear but the details are still easily identifiable, just look at Liberty's head and the details of her face and hair with extensive wear to it and the word LIBERTY which is also worn, but the date is still well preserved. The word one cent in the center of the reverse and the words United States of America are very distinct while the wreath has wear and quite a bit of the leaves details are gone. The coin has wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin is problem free and in nice original condition displaying a nice light brown colored patina. These coins were designed by Christian Gobrecht. Early US coins such as this are gradually getting difficult to find. Please carefully review scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: 1849. Mint: Philadelphia. Size and weight: The coin weighs 10 grams of a copper and is ~27.3 mm in diameter. The coin is problem free and has a beautiful light brown patina and wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. It is much better than the photos suggest. It has a few scratches, dings, bag marks, and wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin is in good original condition and is truly a nice coin.
