Description: RARE FIND: 1983 Be Something Studio Shrunken Skull Mask. This mask has a way more brownish skull thank the off- white I’ve seen and seems to be a lot more of a shrunken skull than some of the others, but perhaps that’s just my perception. Black hair (like faux fur) with long side pieces of hair hanging down. Breathing holes in upper eye sockets and under the chin. Parts of the latex skull are “gummy” (from age and wear I’d imagine) and very thin & stringy in some parts when you stretch it, for lack of a better way of describing. Inside is a tag that says: MADE IN USA Copyrighted by Be Something Studio 1983 B.S.S. Inside the mask it reads: COPYRIGHTED BY BYB.Y. BE SOMETHING STUDIO 1982 BSS The only other that I could find sold on here - with the different colored skull and appearance of a possibly different sized face, made no mention of 1982 being stamped on the inside when it lists the stamp - so this may be a rarer, older version? I’m no expert, it’s just an assumption. I can find a shrunken head in the 1981, 1982 & 1983 BSS catalogs in the 3000 series. Please view the photographs closely to determine condition for yourself.
