Family folklore suggests it was donated by the Maryland China Co. to Cecile who painted the vase to be auctioned at a fundraiser for the Maryland Center for History & Culture. Hand painted on the bottom is Cecile's signature along with the words "Donated by the Marilyn China Co." The neoclassical design features gilding on the rim, handles and other areas with a floral pattern in shades of green, pink, and maroon. Stunning addition to any home decor or porcelain collection and a gorgeous example of mid-20th century porcelain artistry. Acquired from a Louisville KY estate, measures appx 7 7/8"t x 7" at its widest point with a 5"d mouth.
