This is a set of three vintage hardcover Barbie story books, collected from The Mattel Barbie Magazine and published by Random House in the 1960s. They've definitely been read and loved; the covers all show wear and have bumped corners to one extent or another, and age-appropriate discoloration is apparent on the spines, covers, and text block edges. The text blocks themselves are in pretty good shape. Dimensions are 5-1/2" x 8-1/4".Barbie and Ken, by Cynthia Lawrence and Bette Lou Maybee, illustrated by Clyde Smith. The top 2" of the spine is partly torn, but is still attached to the back. A Barbie head with the number 4 appears near the bottom of the spine. The front cover is slightly bent on the top right, and that corner is bumped. The inside endsheet has an inscription at the top right. The text block is in good shape, with some discoloration of the foot edge on the bottom right corner for the back half of the book. No markings found. The back cover is in good shape. The spine is faded; the top and bottom have some tears, but everything is attached. A Barbie head with the number 6 appears near the bottom of the spine. The front cover is faded, and the corners are bumped inwards. The text block is in very good shape, with only the edges showing any discolorations. No markings found. The back cover is also faded, and the corners are bumped inwards. The spine has minimal damage, mostly at the top. A Barbie head with the number 9 appears near the bottom of the spine. The book has had some water damage on the bottom half. The front cover bottom right corner is bent; the front hinge is exposed. The bottom of the text block is wavy, most prominently at the front of the book; pages 11-20 are also slightly folded near the gutter. However, there's no visible discoloration, and otherwise the text block is good. The back cover is good, with a small tear at the upper right.
