The older Universe series had a maple fingerboard with an amber gloss finish, giving it a luxurious feel that you wouldn't expect from an entry-level model.The black pickguard is also unusual. The front and rear pickups sound fine, and the volume and high/low knobs have almost no crackling. The active circuit boosts and cuts effectively. The back of the neck is clean with no scratches.I liked the way it looked like straight grain.The neck is set with a slight back bow.The truss rod has room to adjust both ways. The string height was adjusted to 2.0mm on the 1st string and 2.8mm on the 5th string. The string height and neck curvature may change as the strings will be loosened for shipping. There is a block inlay sticker on the fingerboard.You can remove it to reveal the original dot inlays. The previous owner installed a tension bar. It comes with an Ibanez gig bag, but the zipper pull is missing.Opening and closing is not a problem. It will be shipped with air packing wrapped around the gig bag and packed in a cardboard box.
