Description: Elegant set of authentic wood Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls with a religious icon or saints theme, likely Russian Orthodox. This set of five (5) nesting dolls ranges in size from 4-1/2" to 1-1/2". The largest has metal inlay in the icon image. The others have metallic paint accents. Although I don't read Russian, the largest is marked Made in Russia in English on the bottom and appears to be the date of 2002. A number 5 most likely indicates this was created as a 5-piece set. Gorgeous detail.
