Description: Contact Us Notice Description An exhibition titled "OPhantom" featuring artists Tetsunori Tawaraya and Yuichiro Tamaki will be held at BEAMS T Harajuku starting May 24 (Friday). Tetsunori Tawaraya, known for his work in flyer art, comics, and silk screening, gained acclaim in the late 1990s after moving to San Diego, and has a passionate fan base both in Japan and worldwide. Yuichiro Tamaki excels in silk screening, drawing, sculpture, and performance art.The concept of the exhibition, "OPhantom," draws inspiration from the beautiful and rare "Edo Yokai Karuta" cards popular in the Edo period. The artists began this project with the idea that dismantling the concept of karuta and expressing freely could lead to new visual representations.Although Tawaraya and Tamaki have been friends for over 20 years, this is their first collaboration. They have created a 35-page zine printed in silk screen, which will be released in a special edition by the renowned Italian silk screen bookbinding maestro, Strane Dizioni.The exhibition will feature not only the limited edition silk screen book but also eight posters and two collaborative original artworks. Additionally, apparel items featuring the art will be available for purchase.Design: The T-shirt features art prints by Tetsunori Tawaraya and Yuichiro Tamaki on the front.Material: The body is made from a 7.7-ounce heavyweight cotton fabric, utilizing American cotton spun into open-end yarn. The T-shirt, developed with BEAMS T's expertise, features a slightly firm texture but offers a plush, dry feel with excellent moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties.Care Instructions: Machine wash and mild wet cleaning are both acceptable.
