Description: A rather scarce documentation of the Southern San Joaquin Valley aboriginal occupation. This 1926 first edition explains the history, areas of occupation, and artifacts of the area. It is very site specific. The text is accompanied by 34 full page plates. There is one fold out map. This hardcover probably was lovingly engaged to house the original softcover. The name of the owner is embossed on the front cover. Interestingly his last name is Meyer, while the author cites an important collection with the last name of Mayer. A possible connection. The text and photos are excellent, solid and clean. No library marks. The boards are relatively clean and solid with bright gilt. It is 10 1/2 x 7 inches. Very difficult to find.
