Antique Whites Utica Salt Glazed Beer Pitcher, w/ Stags in Relief, German Poem

Description: Antique Salt Glazed Beer Pitcher, Stag and Hunter Scene in Relief. Made by White's Pottery in Utica, NY. The company operated from 1834 until 1907. The website of the "Bluewhitepottery.org/the white-s-pottery features this model in their photo slide show. Measures 7-1/2" tall, 7-1/2" in diagonal and 9-1/2" in diagonal with the handle included. Gorgeous antique German pitcher features a stag scene in relief on one side, and a hunting scene on the other side. Applied handle resembles an antler. The underside of the spout features a stag head in relief, other features are small dear in the background, foliage, tree trunks...all in relief. Condition: No cracks, shows some surface chips/scuffs ...pictured. The last picture shows an accumulation of salt grains in the glaze.... some of the imperfections happened during the manufacturing process. The German text means something like "If you have grief from a broken heart fill the pitcher with beer and hold it to your heart" Pitcher will be wrapped in plenty of bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy box.
