Antique Persian Sterling Silver Hand-Painted Reversible Mother Of Pearl Necklace

Description: Wonderful antique Persian .800 (near sterling) silver hand-painted, hand-carved reversible mother of pearl pendant with nice sterling silver chain. This colorful piece features a 2 3/8” long by 1 1/4” wide by 1/4” deep, antique hand-carved mother of pearl pendant firmly set in a twisted rope silver setting with a different hand-painted scene on each side. It hangs on a newer vintage 18 1/2” sterling silver chain. This necklace weighs 15.4 grams altogether. The silver on the pendant tests at close to sterling, but these antique pieces were usually set in .800 silver. Sterling silver is .925 parts silver. This particular pendant is in really nice condition for its age. The mother of pearl is a lovely pale golden color with a glossy polish. The hand-painted scene on both sides is intact. The chain is stamped “925, Italy” and the pendant has been professionally tested as, at least, .800 silver. Any display items pictured are NOT included.
