Description: Antique unsigned that I can see, hand tinted lithograph of pastoral sheep herd in landscape, with shepherdess reclining beneath a tree to rest. Based upon research I believe it to be an Auguste Bonheur lithograph, but you please be the judge. Looks to be victorian period of 1890's -1910. Measures in total 21.5" x 18" framed.Tremendous amount of detail within the image with sheep sleeping and grazing in both the foreground and background; the play of shadows, light, trees and running stream adding visual interest. The shepherdess almost unseen, as if hiding. The frame is a tortoiseshell design and original, has some scratches here and there. Glass and frame maybe could use some light detailing. Back as shown, please see photos. Glass was reflecting shadows and light making it difficult to photograph. Much nicer in person. Thanks for looking!
