Description: Antique Ottoman Turkish Tugra Chain-Stitch Metallic Thread Drawstring Purse Bag Stunning find! I can't even imagine how this bag survived this many years withoutbeing handled and worn! It came from the estate of an 85-year-old woman whose mother was an antique dealer. It was stored for many years and is now available to a lucky buyer! This sweet, fabric, Art Nouveau beauty is completely covered in a multi-color chain-stitch metallic thread which was carefully orchestrated to create such a wonderful period design which is the same on both sides. Please notice how there is a delicate edging around the entire bag. So muchwork and time were taken to put this lovely purse together! There are two braided drawstring pulls & three metallic tassels at bottom. The bag is lined with an orange-colored fabric which may be silk (I am unsure). The bag "body" measures approx. 9" tall by 7.5" wide. This is an Ottoman Turkish Tugra bag. The Sultan's insignia (Tugra) is in the center and in the upper right and left from it are the Islamic crescent and star symbols. The condition is pretty amazing! I see no major issues. There are a few areas where the chain stitching is lifted up from the fabric a bit, but that's about it! Just so beautiful! Photos taken with and without camera flash for best description. Please see condition as shown in photos ** For combined shipping, please add items to your cart and request an invoice BEFORE making payment. ** U.S. Lower 48 shipping only.
